‘Dubai murder another act of Israeli state terrorism’

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast has condemned the assassination of a top Hamas official in Dubai as another act of ‘Israeli state terrorism.’

“The move was another disgrace for the Zionist regime [Israel] for its act of state terrorism and a disgrace for European countries,” Mehmanparast told reporters on Tuesday.

The Dubai police released photos and information about eleven European passport holders, who murdered Hamas commander Mahmud al-Mabhouh in his hotel room on January 20.

The suspects were allegedly Mossad agents, who had used British, Irish, French, and German passports, the Dubai police said.

Interpol has issued “red notices” for the 11 suspects to help find and arrest them anywhere in its 188 member countries.

Mehmanparast called for the European countries to be held responsible for their alleged role in the assassination of the Hamas official.

“Based on an investigation by the United Arab Emirates police, the assassination was carried out in a hotel in Dubai by individuals who held diplomatic passports of certain European countries,” he said.

“The move runs counter to the Vienna Convention and indicates direct or indirect interference of European states in the assassination,” the spokesman added.
